1st Day Monday.Cusco – Rocotal (Cloud Forest) (B, L, D)
Departure by local bus at 5:00 am. In about 4 hours we will arrive to Acjanaco pass located at 3,500 m.a.s.l., Acjanaco is the entrance to Manu National Park, we continue another one hour more to reach the area known as "Rocotal" located at the 2,000 m.a.s.l. Here will be where we set up our first camp. The importance of visiting this area is the incredible biodiversity of species in Flora and Fauna, especially tropical colorful birds and endemic plants, as well as a variety of insects and amphibians. After setting up our base camp, we will have available all afternoon to walk (provided with our indispensable binoculars) to appreciate such wonders. After dinner we can make a nocturnal excursion in search of amphibians and others.

2nd Day Tuesday Rocotal (Cloud Forest) – San Pedro (Cloud Forest) (B, L, D)
We wake up this morning with the first light of day to appreciate the beginning of the activity of thousands of tropical birds, there will be a short walk before returning to our base camp for a hot breakfast, and then take out our tents and equipment to continue our tropical adventure. This day we expected a good walk, a decrease of approximately 800 meters to reach the heart of the cloud forest, where we will make our second camp. In this fantastic decrease surely we will have the opportunity to spotting a variety of bird species, including the famous Cock of the Rock (the Peru's national bird ). Arriving there, we will take a short break, and a refreshing swim in the waters of a creek, then will have dinner, for people who wish, there will be a night walk

3rd Day. Wednesday. San Pedro (Cloud Forest) – Atalaya (River Port) (B, L, D)
This morning, before sunrise, we will visit a place known as LEK, it is a hidden platform in the forest to observe the courtship dances than Cock of the rocks (Rupicola Peruviana) (Peru's national Bird) usually make, every days (only if rains there will be no activity). After attending this spectacular show we will return to our camp site to have a good breakfast. After breakfast get ready all our camping equipment and wait a means of local transportation to take us to Pillcopata town, for lunch at a local restaurant. The journey will continue 3 hours more hiking until Atalaya River port, over there we will spend the night in a local Hostel.
Option return to Cusco .-(the members, who so wish may return this day to Cusco by local bus, leaving at 7.00 pm, arriving in Cusco at 5:00 a.m.). (Check the itinerary in "manu backpackers 3 days-3 nights)

4th Day Thursday. Atalaya – "Manu Botanical Center" (B, L, D)
Wake up in Atalaya port with the sound of the river, where after sunrise and having breakfast we get ready to descend the spirited waters of the River Alto Madre de Dios by a Wood motor boat, in about 30 minutes we will arrive at our private reserve (Manu Botanical garden) where we are working on a new development project, focusing on useful species reforestation and forest recovery (for those who want the possibility of joining the existing volunteer program free of charge, just assuming personal expenses). This afternoon there will be a walk in the forest that surrounds us, with the possibility of spotting some mammals among many other things, and for those who want to do after dinner a night walking to hear the wonderful music of nature and see insects, frogs, tarantulas, etc. Overnight in camp.

5th Day Friday. "Manu Botanical Center" (B, L, D)
Early in the morning we will be moving downstream with a motor boat in 20 minutes we will arrive at a beach in front of a cliff (lick) where hundreds of parrots, parakeets and macaws provide us with a colorful and lively show, (on that can be appreciated only if good weather).
Another activity will be a visit to Machuwasi meandering lagoon located in front of our Camp site, using a rudimentary boat (catamaran) will floating in the water body that forms the lagoon meandering, habitat and refuge for various wildlife species, including monkeys , capybaras, birds and others. Return in time for a refreshing swim in the river, and a good lunch.
This afternoon will be free to see the work we are doing and whether to participate in one of them may do. After dinner we walk at night to search for caimans and other nocturnal animals near the river.
Option return to Cusco (The members who so wish may begin at noon to return to Cusco, first by boat to Atalaya port, then walking for 3 hours to Pillcopata Town, where the local buses go to Cusco. 6th Day Saturday "Manu Botanical Center" - Shintuya native community (B, L, D)
This morning we will have a new opportunity to visit the parrot clay lick in the area, then we will return to the camp site to have breakfast and after we will board the boat with all our luggage and start navigating downstream for approximately 3 hours. today we will arrive to a native community (Shintuya) populated by the ethnic group of Amarakaeri, will be of interest to know their way of life and culture, this night will spent camping in front of the community in a beautiful place where there are hot springs in which we can take a relaxing bath.

7th Day. Sunday. Shintuya Native Community – Matziguenka Traditional medicine Center (B, L, D)
Before breakfast we will board the boat to visit a very special place located on the banks of the river, where every morning with good weather Join hundreds of parrots at a clay lick to feed on a special clay that is rich in minerals, the show is really colorful, lively and pleasant, then will return to the lodge to have breakfast. Later we will walking in the forest around the Pantiacolla plateau. At noon we will start our journey again navigating in our boat to a Lodge located within the Forest, this place is called traditional medicine center of Matsiguenkas there we receive a healer Mateo Matsiguenka expert on medicinal plants in the area, in addition to introducing us to world also for those interested leads night ceremonies psycho active plants such as Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi). For those seeking contact with the forest and animals, in the afternoon we will hike in the forest and at night we bet in absolute silence one of the places known locally as "Collpa" (mammals lick) are special places visited daily by mammals such as the Tapir (Tapirus terrestris) the properties contained in the soil of these licks are essential to the diet of most herbivores habit animals, with a little luck we may spot some casual visitors then back to our Lodge for dinner.

8th Day Monday. Matziguenka Traditional medicine Center – Boca Manu (B, L, D)
Early in the morning will start to navigate in approximately in 3 hour we will arrive to Boca Manu Village, we will stop to visit the town mainly dedicated to wooden boat building and then we will continue by boat 10 minutes more to the house of an ethnic Yine person, we will camp near his home. In the afternoon we will visit an impressive oxbow lake called "Isla de los valles", where we can see many birds and mammals like the Giant River Otter, when nichts arrive are also possible to spot the Black Cayman. Night sharing with the native family.

9th Day Tuesday. Boca Manu – "Charro Lodge" (B, L, D)
Early morning we will visit an impressive lagoon on "Isla de los Valles", where we can see many birds and other mammals frequently visit these places in the morning. We return for breakfast and then take a one hour navigate upstream the impressive river Manu, where you can find different types of animals, we will go until "Limonal" (one of the Manu National Park control point), here we visit the interesting trails and a swamp is a forest of palm trees where you can see different types of birds. Returning, the trip continues to the "charro lodge" located near to a beautiful meandering lake, here we spend the night in comfortable rooms and enjoy the surrounding nature and wildlife will hike in the afternoon and evening.

10th Day, Wednesday. "Charro Lodge" – Blanquillo Lodge (B, L, D)
This morning we'll do some hiking in the trails of the area and then take our boat navigating for about 3 hours to the "Blanco Lodge" where we will spend the night in comfortable rooms. In the afternoon we will climb to an observation tower 40 meters high next to a lake to observe the forest from above. At night we will hike in to the forest to see the animals of the night.

11th Day, Thursday. Blanquillo Lodge – Puerto Maldonado (B, L,)
Very early we go to a hiding place in front of the Macaws clay lick; the guide will explain the reason for the presence of parrots and macaws here. Gradually, dozens of parrots begin to come to the lick, often have been to hundreds of them. Then will come the most colorful Birds: the macaws (Ara sp.). After to Watch this wonderful show, we will continue another 4 hours Navigation to Puerto Colorado a mining town, here we take a car over a bumpy Amazon road crossing rivers and possible obstacles along the way, after about 6 hours we will arrive to Puerto Maldonado City, we will settle in a comfortable lodge in Puerto Maldonado, bathroom, shower and a refreshing pool. Optional evening with traditional food and dancing in Puerto Maldonado.

12th Day, Friday. Puerto Maldonado – Caoba lodge (Nautical Lodge) (B, L, D)
Option return to Cusco (Members who wish to end the journey here, may return to Cusco or Lima by plane (flights are in the morning) or by bus (departs at 4.00 PM arriving in Cusco on Saturday early morning).
In the morning we will visit the market and the city of Puerto Maldonado, at noon we will go to the Tambopata river port to board a motorized canoe that will transport us for the Madre de Dios River until "Caoba Lodge (Nautical Lodge). During the move we have the wonderful opportunity to enjoy a stroll through the town of Puerto Maldonado, from the mobility that takes us sight the grocery market with local produce from the region and also we will see the Madre de Dios Biodiversity Obelisk. Similarly during the journey on board the canoe we will observe alligators, turtles, birds and hopefully some wild mammals such as capybara and others along the banks of the Madre de Dios River.
Upon arrival at the Nautical Lodge will accommodate and will to get ready to have lunch . After lunch we will visit the famous Monkey Island located in the middle of the Madre de Dios River and only 5 minutes from our lodge, named for harboring different monkey species including Spider monkeys, Squirrel monkeys, Pygmy Marmosets and other species. After to visit the island we will return to the Lodge. While we come back, will enjoy the wonderful sunset of the Jungle. We will have time to relax and have dinner. In the evening we will have a night walking in the area inhabited by various wild animals, most of which are active at night as peccaries, and other animal species such as tapirs, pacas, agoutis, sloths, tortoises, night monkeys; This area is also frequented by ocelots.
In the night from the Nautical Lodge we can observe artisanal fishing in the river where the fishermen cast the net to catch fishes as bocachico, paco, tarpon, mota, catfish, maid and others, at the same time we will have the opportunity observe the sky in the clear sky of Madre de Dios and occasionally see the passage of shooting stars that constitute one of the charms of the jungle of Madre de Dios. 13th Day, Saturday. Caoba Lodge (Nautical Lodge) (B, L, D)
After breakfast we will cross the Madre de Dios river to the opposite river site by boat to take the trail than go to Sandoval Lake which is within the Tambopata Reserve and begin a 3 km walk .
When we reach the lake we will board a canoe with oars and no motor, and we will navigate in the calm waters of this lake year-round home to a wide diversity of species such as turtles, caimans, and some other endangered species as Giant Otters (Pteronura brasiliensis), the black caiman, among others. The lake also is home to varieties of water birds like cormorants, herons, kingfishers, parrots, macaws and also the prehistoric bird called Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), and besides a countless variety of butterflies of various sizes and colors. At noon we started the back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch we board a motorized canoe to visit a native community, located off the island Gamitana in this place we will see about their customs and their daily activities, crafts and dancing. Then we will visit the beautiful river basin of gamitana where we can navigate in its waters. When we back to our nautical Lodge we may observe the Caimans shining with our flashlights, and even we can approach them for a better view. Arriving at the Lodge, dinner and we will have time to relax.

14th Day, Sunday Caoba Lodge – Puerto Maldonado – Cusco (B)
After breakfast we will return to Puerto Maldonado City. The bus back to Cusco departs at 4:00 pm, arriving in Cusco at approximately 4:00 am. End of service
Option returns. By plane to Cusco or Lima: The members who so wish may return to Cusco or Lima by plane (flights are in the morning) and have to pay the cost of the flight.
