MANU COMFORT WITH "MANU BOTANICAL GARDEN"
The Manu National Park in Peru is the most extensive Reserve of tropical forest in the planet, with almost two million hectares; located in southeast Peru between the department of Cusco and Madre de Dios, it is a very important part of the Amazonian river basin. In 1977 it was declared by UNESCO: Biosphere Reserve and recognized in 1987 like world patrimony of the Humanity. The program includes 10 unforgettable days of adventure in the Peruvian Amazon, across different ecological levels from the Andes to the lowland.

Day 1st.- Cusco – Asuncion:
With the first light in the morning a 4x4 truck with the guide, the driver and the cook will pick you up from your hotel, Together. We start the trip south. Our first stop is 25 km from Cusco in "Huacarpay" lake to an observation tower where it is possible to see many birds around the lake. In the mean time the cook will serve breakfast on a side of the lake. We continue our trip East and on the way we will visit the beautiful folkloric colonial town of "Paucartambo", we also stop in the pass of "Acjanacu" (3850masl) entrance point to the park, here is also the separation point between the Andes and the beginning of the Amazon basin. After lunch we descend through different kinds of forest, where it is possible to see the grand diversity of flora and fauna. This is the habitat for mammals like the Spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatos), a unique bear in south America, the Andean fox (Cerdocyon thous), the puma (puma concolor) and others. This is also the habitat of many species of birds like eagles, raptors and other colourful tropical birds like the famous Cock of the rock (Rupicola peruviana) an endemic bird of the cloud forest; around are possible to find Cedars, more than 600 species of ferns, orchids and begonias etc. We continue our trip until Asuncion Lodge (800 masl). Overnight in bungalows with private toilets and hot water.

Day 2nd.- Asuncion – "Manu Botanical Center":
After a good breakfast we continue our journey along the road to the Pillcopata village (where there is a river rafting option, with an additional cost of 25 $ per person). Over there is waiting for us our river captain, after a brief stop we will go to the river where you will find the boats with the necessary equipment (life jackets, paddles and helmets), after explanation by the river captain, we board the boat to start the fun fall river of "Kosñipata" which is joining toTono River and then to the Piñi Piñi River after to form the navigable Alto Madre de Dios River in Atalaya river port. The Passengers who did not want to do river rafting , will continue by bus from pillcopata to Atalaya port, (40 minutes.), Where we will meet again with those involved in rafting activity, and together we will board a wood motor boat, which will take us by the navigable Madre de Dios River, in about 30 minutes of navigation we will get to our new camp site called "The Manu Botanical Garden", which we are currently developing a very interesting eco-tourism project which has involved local people and foreign volunteers, in this beautiful place we will learn more about this innovative project that develops in favor of nature and the local inhabitants, also there we will do our planned tourism activities, which also will spend the next two nights. On the site you will find comfortable tents with mattresses, sheets and pillows, a kitchen and dining room, and a system of trails inside the forest for walks and wildlife viewing. This afternoon we will have a nice walking in to forest for approximately three hours, then return to camp for a restful break before the dinner. After dinner we have optional night walking..

Day 3rd "Manu Botanical Center"
Today we will wake up very early (at 5:00 am approximately) to visit a parrot clay lick (clay cliffs rich in salts and minerals), where every morning early hundreds of parrots, parakeets and macaws gather to eat salty land place, while they give us a colorful and lively show, which will observe with the help of our binoculars and a special spotting scope for bird watching. The place is located 15 minutes by boat downriver This activity will last approximately 1 hour after which we will return by boat to the camp site where we will have a good breakfast. After breakfast between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm we will make a visit into the forest by one of the routes that we have the purpose of spotting flora and fauna, learn about many plants, know their roles and the diversity of species and the dynamics of the forest, this hike will last until lunchtime. After lunch at approximately 3:00 pm departure to a new excursion this time we will visit a meandering lagoon located inside the forest, in whose waters we will navigate on rustic catamarans, while we enjoy watching a particular species of birds only inhabit the lagoons of the Amazon, we also have chance to see many other things, and at sunset near the evening we will return to our camp site for dinner and spend our last night in the jungle.

Day 4th "Manu Botanical Center" - Cusco.
After a good breakfast we get ready to board the boat and will navigate 40 minutes to Atalaya port where our bus awaits to return to Cusco City . End of our services.
All activities may be changed depending of weather or river conditions.

What we recommend to take:
• Lightweight in a backpack and a daypack for the walking.
