MANU WORK & TRAVEL
The program includes 8 unforgettable days of adventure in the lush jungles of the Peruvian Amazon, in the Manu National Park helping us with some works in our ecological project which is developed over there. During our stay we will participate in various activities in support to the project, while enjoy various guided tours, and visits to parrots, parakeets and macaws clay lick, visit to a meandering lagoon, and walking in to the forest to learn more about the flora and fauna that inhabit these forests. All this activities, navigating the imposing Madre de Dios River. The itinerary is recommended for students, young and adult people with diverse fitness and abilities, birdwatchers, botanists, and people willing to hike camp and contribute to this important eco-tourism project in this wonderful Jungle.
OUR PROJECT.
This ecotourism project is located into the Manu National Park, a natural reserve of incalculable natural and cultural value because it has an incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna and various ethnic groups that inhabit its forests.
The project is named "Otorongo Blanco" and the area where the project is developed is called "Manu Botanical Garden", daily activities we do are varied
from opening new paths in the forest, sowing and planting trees and other useful plants (restore the forest), census and monitoring of flora and fauna in the area, to build shelters that in the future will be used for tourist trips to the area. All this will benefit in the nature and benefit of the inhabitants of the town's population.

Day 1st Wednesday. Cusco – "Pillcopata"
Departure from Cusco by local bus at 5:00 am, in about 4hr we will arrive to Paucartambo a pretty village dating from the Spanish Colonial time, still located in the Andes, in this place the bus will has a brief stop while we take the opportunity to know about this nice town. In 45 minutes more we will arrive to Acjanaco pass located at 3,500 m.a.s.l., entrance pint to the Manu National Park, and also de beginning point of the Amazon We will continue about 2 hours more by bus across the Andean Páramo, the elfin forest and untill Arrive to the cloud forest. We will have all afternoon to walk in the cloud forest to watch mainly birds because the place is the best in the world to observe tropical birds that inhabit the area in a huge number of species, we also have the possibility to see monkeys, orchids and other important plants. At appropriate time we will wait for a local transportation to take us until Pillcopata Town (700 m.a.s.l.), in this place we will spend the night at a local Hostel.

Day 2nd Tuesday Pillcopata – "Manu Botanical Center"
We will wake up early in Pillcopata. Will have breakfast and then prepare our things. We will move in a local transportation driving 30 minutes untill Atalaya river port, where we will board a Wood motor boat that will take us to our campsite, about 45 minutes navigating the Madre de Dios River. In the camp site we will have lunch, and in the afternoon will begin with a scheduled work.

Day 3rd Wednesday "Manu Botanical Center"
We will Wake up already in our camp site with the sound of nature, after a good breakfast the accompanying guide will organize the activities that we will make in the day. In the morning until lunch we will have some work to determine the guide in the project area, after lunch we have all afternoon to make a guided tour visiting a meandering lagoon near the camp site , Ideal place to watch special kind of birds and some mammals in the area.

Day 4th Thursday "Manu Botanical Center"
This day we have to wake up very early to visit a parrots clay lick (clay cliffs rich in salts and minerals) the place is located 15 minutes by boat downstream where every morning hundreds of parrots, parakeets and macaws gather to eat clay salt site This activity will only be possible if there is good weather with no rain and no cloud cover, after having attended this colorful and noisy show we return to our camp site to have breakfast. The rest of the day we will have time to help with some work scheduled in the project area and a guided walk through the forest. Evening for all people who want there is the possibility to make a night walking in to the forest to watch the night life of the forest.

Day 5th Friday. "Manu Botanical Center"
Waking up early today we will have the possibility to watch many tropical birds activity in the area that start their day activities very busy so it will be possible to observe from the camp site, then we will have breakfast and the rest of the morning working on scheduled activity for the day, in the project area. In the afternoon after lunch we will hike with a guide inside the forest to spot plants and animals and learn more about this wonderful jungle.

Day 6th Saturday. "Manu Botanical Center"
This day after breakfast we start our day job. In each work we will learn many new things, if we go to open trails we will find a large diversity of flora and fauna and learn about them. If we plant trees we feel the satisfaction of being helping to restore and conserve nature and also contribute to the welfare of our planet. In the afternoon after lunch we visit the river to take a swim or just walk around, and enjoy the scenery or taking a rest to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Day 7th Sunday. "Manu Botanical Center"
This will be our last full day in this beautiful place, with the Guide we will evaluate the work scheduled in the morning or afternoon, in half the time we will have a hiking exploring the forest opening new paths with our own hands, then spend our last night in the camp site.

Day 8th Monday "Manu Botanical Center" – Cusco
Today after breakfast we will have our last work in the Project area, it will be until noon, after which we will begin our return journey, first by boat until Atalaya Port, after doing a walk of approximately 3 hours to Pillcopata town where we arrive for dinner at a local restaurant, after dinner we board the bus ride back to Cusco. Bus departure at 7:00 pm arriving in Cusco at 5:00 am on Tuesday.
