The ayahuasca plant, yajé, yagé or kapi, is a vine from the South American jungle, which has been used for thousands of years within the native tribes, therefore it is very rare to grow in the wild. Contains beta-carbolines inhibitors of monoamine oxidasas (MAO), from the harmala family, such as harmine, harmaline, tetrahidroharmine and banisterine.
The traditional indigenous medicine men (Shamans) are the ones who take care of this plant establishing a close relationship with it, where the benefit of human beings is an awareness and understanding of the jungle, which spirit will heal.
